Four Indian siblings and their family’s domestic worker died in a road accident early Sunday, The National reported. The family, from Kerala, was returning home via Abu Dhabi-Dubai motorway after the Liwa Dates Festival when the crash happened in Shahama. The four boys—Ashaz, 14; Ammar, 12; Azam, 8; and Ayash, 5—were with their parents Abdul Lateef and Ruksana, and sister Izza, 10. Ashaz, Ammar, and Ayash died instantly. Azam died Monday evening at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital due to injuries. The parents and Izza are still hospitalized and receiving care. The family’s 48-year-old domestic worker also died in the accident. The family chose to bury the boys in the UAE, while the maid’s body will be sent back to Kerala for burial. A welfare group is helping the family with hospital care and funeral arrangements. Friends, relatives, and neighbors have expressed deep grief. Authorities and support groups continue to assist the survivors as they recover.
