The Hindu Hosts School Science, Maths Olympiad 2025 in Hassan & Mysuru on Jan 16-17

The Hindu’s School Science Festival and Maths Olympiad 2025, named Ramanujam Spark Quest, will be held in Hassan on January 16 and Mysuru on January 17. The Hassan event takes place at Royale Apollo International School Auditorium, Chikkakondagula, while Mysuru’s event is at Nanjaraj Bahadur Choultry on Shivarampet Main Road.
Students join to show off their skills in science and maths. The competition aims to nurture scientific curiosity and mathematical talent.
The Hassan event is open to students from Hassan district. Mysuru’s event welcomes students from Mysuru, Mandya, and Chamarajanagar districts.
Events start at 9 a.m., with no entry fee.
Science Festival teams must have two students from Classes 6 to 10. Each school can send up to 10 teams. Teams must arrive by 8:30 a.m. Students present innovative, cost-effective models following the ‘Make in India’ theme.
In the Maths Olympiad, each school can nominate five students from Classes 6 to 10. Participants answer 50 questions in one hour. The test covers 30 science questions and 20 maths and mental ability questions. Each question has four answer options to be marked on an OMR sheet. Correct answers earn four marks; wrong answers lose one mark. If scores tie, maths and mental ability marks decide the winner.
Winners receive cash prizes, trophies, and merit certificates. First and second runners-up also get prizes and certificates. All participants earn certificates.
