MAGA Influencer Demands Deportation of Indian American Hotel Owners for Rejecting DHS, ICE
January 8, 2026
A big controversy broke out when a MAGA influencer demanded the deportation of four Indian American hotel owners. They had refused to provide rooms to immigration enforcement officers from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at a Hampton Inn in Minnesota.
Conservative commentator Andrew Branca said on X that if the owners were here on visas, they should be deported. He went further, telling, "But even if they're naturalized citizens, they should be denaturalized and then deported." He added, "When we grant the precious gift of American citizenship to a foreign national, it's with the understanding that they're going to act in the interests of the United States, not contrary to those interests."
One user replied, "So deport them because they exercise their first amendment rights? Do you know how insane you sound?" Branca responded sharply, "Deport them because they are not cultural Americans."
The Hampton Inn in Lakeville, Minnesota, was bought last year for $15 million by four Indian American partners: Parmjit Singh, Amanpreet Hundal, Karandeep Nagra, and Mohinderjeet Kaur. Emails shared on social media revealed hotel staff rejecting DHS and ICE reservations, stating, "We have noticed an influx of GOV reservations made today that have been for DHS, and we are not allowing any ICE or immigration agents to stay at our property."
Hilton clarified the hotel is independently owned and this does not reflect its values.
Under US law, only non-citizens can be deported. Naturalized citizens generally cannot be deported unless proven their citizenship was gained illegally and revoked through court. Refusing rooms to federal agents is not a crime. Private hotels can legally deny service unless it is discriminatory by protected categories.
