102 MPs Double Their Wealth in 10 Years: ADR Report Reveals

The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released a report showing that 102 Lok Sabha MPs who were re-elected between 2014 and 2024 increased their assets by over 100% on average. These MPs saw an average asset growth of ₹17.36 crore, jumping around 110% in a decade. BJP MP Udayanraje Bhonsle topped the list with a 268% asset increase, rising from ₹60 crore in 2014 to ₹223 crore in 2024. P V Midhun Reddy of YSRCP witnessed a jump of ₹124.25 crore, from ₹22.59 crore to ₹146.85 crore. Actor-turned-politician Hema Malini's assets grew by over ₹100 crore, from ₹178 crore to ₹278 crore during the same period. BJP's Rao Inderjit Singh saw his wealth increase by ₹96 crore, now valued at ₹121 crore. Poonamben Maadam of BJP recorded a ₹130 crore rise, holding assets worth ₹147 crore in 2024. Shatrughan Sinha, who moved from BJP to TMC, raised his assets by ₹78 crore, from ₹131 crore in 2014 to ₹210 crore in 2024. Shiromani Akali Dal's Harsimrat Kaur Badal's assets grew overall by ₹90 crore. Nishikant Dubey and Supriya Sule increased their wealth significantly as well. Overall, the average assets of these MPs rose from ₹15.76 crore in 2014 to ₹33.13 crore in 2024. The report sheds light on the rapid accumulation of wealth among elected representatives in India's Parliament over the past decade.
