January 9, 2026
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is protesting the Enforcement Directorate's raids on the I-PAC office and the residence of its co-founder, Pratik Jain. On January 9, 2026, she will lead a procession from Jadavapur 8B Bus Stand to Hazra More. On January 8, Ms. Banerjee visited the I-PAC office amid accusations from the ED of removing key evidence. Both the ED and I-PAC have approached the Calcutta High Court regarding the searches. The court, under Justice Suvra Ghosh, is expected to hear the matter on Friday. Meanwhile, eight TMC MPs, including Derek O’Brien, Satabdi Roy, Mahua Moitra, Bapi Haldar, Saket Gokhale, Pratima Mondal, Kirti Azad, and Dr. Sharmila Sarkar, are staging a dharna at Amit Shah’s office in Delhi on the same day.
