NARL Gadanki Leads Fortnight-Long Cleanliness Drive Promoting Sustainability
February 6, 2026
The National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL-Gadanki), under the Department of Space, has begun a fortnight-long cleanliness campaign called 'Swachhata Pakhwada'. Running from February 1 to 15, 2026, the effort aims to promote sustainability and improve the cleanliness of its premises. NARL Director Dr. Amit Kumar Patra said the campaign includes an 'anti-plastic' drive publicized through banners. Employees have taken cleanliness pledges, and water tanks were cleaned in Gadanki and Tirupati. Sustainable items were also distributed to schoolchildren to encourage eco-friendly habits. To oversee these activities, the 'Swachhata Pakhwada Implementation Cell 2026' was formed to ensure smooth execution throughout the campaign period.
