A large crowd of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party workers gathered at the party's headquarters in Panaiyur, Chennai, on Friday. They came to collect application forms for the upcoming Assembly elections. The party, launched by actor-politician Vijay, distributed over 10,000 forms within hours. Local residents protested against the crowding and blocked roads. They complained about vehicles parked on main roads, lanes, and in front of houses. This parking chaos made it hard for locals to enter or leave their area during the party activities. TVK joint general secretary C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar said the high response forced the party to stop distribution temporarily. It will resume on Saturday and continue till February 14. He urged party workers to collect forms calmly and avoid rushing. The protest shows the tension between political activities and local convenience in Panaiyur as the election season heats up.
