A table talk organised by the Kerala Muslim Jamaat district committee on Saturday urged political parties to take charge in reorganising Kerala's districts. The goal is to fix unfair resource sharing across the state. "Development and welfare schemes of the Union and State governments should be allocated in proportion to population. Yet, Malappuram district, with nearly five million residents, is not receiving its fair share," said K.P. Jamal Karulai, district secretary. He explained that this is not just about Malappuram; many districts suffer from similar problems. Restructuring districts can help fix these issues. The session was presided over by senior scholar Syed K.K.S. Thangal Faizy and inaugurated by district president Vadassery Hasan Musliar. Senior lawyer and rights activist P.A. Pouran led the discussion. Other speakers included P. Shabeer, Noushad Mannissery, K.P.O. Rahmatullah, V.S. Joy, Abdul Wahab, Mujeeb Pullichola, and Tajudheen. A.P. Basheer Chellakodi moderated the talk, and Shuaib Anakkayam gave the vote of thanks.
