Unidentified Drone Found in HAL's No-Drone Zone, Security Alert Raised
February 7, 2026
A black drone was found inside the no-drone zone at the LUH Hangar of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) on Thursday, causing a security alert. At about 4:40 p.m., security staff noticed the unidentified drone had fallen on the Alpha Helipad tarmac in the Helicopter Division.
The drone, equipped with an HD camera, was spotted on the ground despite the area being declared a ‘No Drone Zone’ by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Flying drones here is strictly forbidden.
Officials registered a case against unknown persons for violating drone rules in this restricted area. The security team is investigating to find out who flew the drone and how it entered HAL’s premises.
This incident raises questions about the effectiveness of current drone control measures in sensitive zones.
