GUWAHATI: Assam's voter count has decreased by 2,43,485 after a special revision of electoral rolls, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) office stated. The final voter list, published on February 10, 2026, shows 2,49,58,139 voters, down from 2,52,01,624 in the draft on December 27, 2025. The drop is a 0.97% decrease from the draft voter list. During the special revision from November 22 to December 27, 2025, poll officials recorded 7.87 lakh additions and 10.26 lakh deletions. Deletions include 4.79 lakh deceased voters, 5.24 lakh who shifted, and 53,619 multiple entries. The final list contains 1,24,82,213 male voters, 1,24,75,583 female voters, and 343 third-gender voters. Voters or applicants with concerns may appeal to the District Magistrate within 15 days and to the CEO within 30 days. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that a thorough Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Assam's electoral rolls will happen after the Assembly election, likely by April. Assam has 126 Assembly seats.
