NLC India and NALCO Sign MoU to Boost Thermal & Renewable Energy Projects

NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Aluminium Company (NALCO) to work together on developing thermal and renewable energy projects. The deal was signed in the presence of NLCIL Chairman and Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli and NALCO Director (Projects and Technical) Jagdish Arora. The MoU sets a clear framework for cooperation on a proposed 1,200 MW Thermal Captive Power Project. It also covers renewable energy development to meet NALCO’s power needs in a reliable and sustainable way. The partnership includes exploring long-term power tie-ups, such as captive and group captive arrangements. It also plans for long-term coal supply deals to ensure energy and fuel security. Joint project development is part of the plan, with a possible joint venture company in the future. This collaboration aims to use natural resources efficiently, strengthen energy security, and support industrial growth in India. It also helps NLCIL build its capacity, according to the press release.
