The Panjagutta police arrested Karampudi Gopalakrishna, 25, for stealing one kilogram of gold from the Joyalukkas showroom. The theft was reported on February 15 by a complainant named Sebastian. Police acted fast, forming special teams to study CCTV footage and gather technical evidence. Within 24 hours, they caught Gopalakrishna, a resident of Tadepalli, Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. Police recovered 10 gold biscuits, each weighing 100 grams, valued at about ₹1.65 crore, from him. Along with the gold, a mobile phone and motorcycle were seized. Authorities urged jewellery shop owners to boost security by installing proper CCTV cameras, motion sensors, thoroughly checking employees and visitors, and maintaining strong physical locks and shutters.
