The third Dhamma Padayatra will reach Hyderabad on Wednesday, February 18. This long-distance march promotes peace, compassion, and non-violence, inspired by Gautama Buddha's teachings. Hundreds of Buddhist monks from India and Thailand take part in the padayatra. They will arrive at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar 125 Feet Statue at 1 p.m. Telangana Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao, along with senior officials, will welcome the monks. The march began at Siddhartha Buddha Vihara in Karnataka and has covered over 400 kilometres on foot. After paying respects at the Ambedkar statue, the monks will head to the historic Buddha statue at Lumbini Park near Hussainsagar for ceremonies. They will stay at Mahabodhi Buddha Vihara until February 19. The march will then continue through Uppal, Ibrahimpatnam, and Kondamallepalli before ending at Buddhavanam on March 1, according to a release.
