Police arrested two women for stealing 17 tola of silver anklets from HM Jewellery shop in Nandyal town. The theft happened on the afternoon of February 12 when the women entered the shop pretending to buy something. After a complaint, police checked CCTV footage and arrested the duo on Wednesday at the RTC bus stand in Nandyal. The stolen anklets were recovered from them. The arrested women were identified as Vemula Jyothi and Vemula Narasamma from Boyapalli village, Vayalpad mandal in Madanapalle district. Police added that the two have links to property offence cases in Nellore and Tirupati areas. Police also advised businesses to install high-resolution CCTVs for better security.
