The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), in association with the Vellore chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), held the GST 2.0 Summit titled 'Navigating Compliances and Empowering Growth' on Wednesday. Over 100 industry professionals and 1,100 students from Vellore and nearby areas took part. The summit aimed to spread awareness about the latest in Goods and Services Tax (GST) and promote strong compliance habits. The event connected students with experts, enriching both academic and industrial communities in Vellore. It opened with an address by P. Rajendra Kumar, Chairman of ICAI's GST and Indirect Taxes Committee, New Delhi, alongside D. P. Suresh, Assistant Commissioner of GST and Central Excise at ICAI Vellore. Special sessions highlighted career opportunities in taxation and finance, giving students real-world insights into professional paths in indirect taxation, as per the official press release.
