In a dramatic press conference, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a fierce attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of siding with forces that harm Indian democracy. Gandhi said, “This is another milestone in setting up and demonstrating to the youth of this country how elections are being rigged.” He claimed he has clear, black-and-white proof showing how votes are fraudulently added and deleted in elections. Gandhi openly accused Gyanesh Kumar, saying, “Gyanesh Kumar ji vote-choro ki raksha kar rahe hai. This is black and white evidence. There is no confusion in this.” When questioned on why the CEC benefits, he replied, “My work is to participate in a democratic process, the task of protecting India's democracy is that of the country's institutions. But because they are not doing it, I am having to.” He revealed that his party is even receiving inside help from the Election Commission itself, emphasizing, “This won't stop. People of India will not accept this (vote chori).” Gandhi set an urgent one-week deadline for the Election Commission to cooperate with Karnataka CID by providing information related to an investigation into voter deletions. Sharing chilling details, Gandhi mentioned how in Karnataka's Aland constituency, around 6,018 votes were almost deleted, exposing a scheme to erase Congress voters’ names. A booth-level officer caught the fraud when her uncle's vote mysteriously disappeared. She found that someone nearby had deleted it, but that person denied knowing anything. “Some other force hijacked the process,” Gandhi said. He also cited Maharashtra's Rajura area, where fake voters were allegedly added using automated software. Gandhi called on two voters involved during the press meet, both of whom denied any knowledge of the attempted vote deletions. According to Gandhi, these deletions were carried out using computer software, making it look super high-tech and dangerous. The Karnataka CID has repeatedly written 18 letters over 18 months requesting simple information like IP addresses and OTP trails from the Election Commission to find the culprits, but got no cooperation. Gandhi alleged this silence is because the EC doesn't want the investigation to trace where exactly the vote manipulation is happening. Earlier, Gandhi promised a “hydrogen bomb” of evidence on “vote chori” that would shake the nation. Though he clarified the current revelations were not the full explosive proof, he warned bigger shocks are coming soon. Last month, he shocked many by claiming over one lakh votes were stolen through manipulation in Karnataka's Mahadevapura during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, calling vote theft an “atom bomb on our democracy.” Congress is gearing up for a fierce battle to expose what it calls a deep-rooted conspiracy against India’s democratic process, with Rahul Gandhi leading the charge against alleged election rigging and voter fraud.
