Jetstar Grounds Airbus A320s, Cancels Flights After Global Software Recall
November 29, 2025
Jetstar has grounded some of its Airbus A320 aircraft and canceled domestic flights across Australia. This follows a global software recall issued by Airbus on Friday for its A320 family planes. These aircraft are also used by Virgin Australia and Qantas.
Jetstar announced on Saturday that some flights were unable to depart due to this issue. The airline did not specify how many planes were grounded or which routes were affected.
"Jetstar is impacted by an Airbus fleet software issue that’s affecting all A320 family operators globally," the airline said. "Safety is our number one priority. To respond to a precautionary action from Airbus, we have cancelled some Jetstar Airways flights."
The airline added, "Our teams are working on options to get customers on their way as quickly as possible and are contacting affected customers directly."
Currently, it appears no Qantas flights have been affected. Virgin Australia has been reached out to for comment. More details are expected soon.
