Four MBBS Students Suspended for Ragging at Nagarkurnool Medical College
November 30, 2025
A ragging incident at Government Medical College, Nagarkurnool, has led to the suspension of four second-year MBBS students. They allegedly made a first-year student do sit-ups and salute them. The junior student reported this to the college administration about two weeks ago. Dr. Rama Devi, Principal of the college, told The Hindu that immediate action was taken and a formal inquiry was conducted. The inquiry found the four students guilty of ragging. They are suspended from academic activities for two months. Additionally, their hostel membership is cancelled for one year, forcing them to find accommodation outside the campus. Earlier in March 2025, a similar ragging case at the same college resulted in the suspension of three second-year students. In that case, a first-year student was forced to sit in an air-chair position and was beaten by seniors.
