Cash, Gold, Silver Worth ₹1 Lakh Stolen from Kerala Temple; Police Investigate

Cash, gold ornaments, and silver articles worth about ₹1 lakh were stolen from the Thalaklayi Sree Subramanya Swamy temple in Paravanadukkam, Chemnad on the night of November 29. The thief broke the lock of the temple’s front iron door and entered the office room to take the valuables.
The stolen items include a 2-gram gold bracelet valued at ₹25,000, 10 silver bracelets worth ₹15,000, a silver snake idol worth ₹15,000, and ₹25,000 cash stored in the office and treasury room.
Police say initial evidence suggests one person was involved. The complaint was filed by Alami Vaidya, 75, who works at the temple.
Melparamba police registered a case under Sections 334(1), 31(4), and 305 and have started investigations. SI P.K. Abbas is leading the probe. Authorities are collecting evidence from the temple and checking CCTV footage from nearby areas.
A dog squad, fingerprint experts, and forensic teams were deployed at the crime scene to assist in finding the thief.
