The Telangana government announced it will set up exclusive Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) parks for women in all 119 Assembly constituencies. This plan is aimed at promoting women’s entrepreneurship and empowering them economically, said Information Technology and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Sunday. The minister highlighted that the goal is to make women the main players in Telangana's plan to become a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Addressing the WE-Enable graduation ceremony at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Mr. Sridhar Babu said, "Women empowerment must begin within the family and translate into active participation in economic and social life." He noted a visible positive change in society's attitude toward women in Telangana. Telangana's Female Labour Force Participation Rate stands at 52.7%, above the national average of 45.2%. The women’s workforce in the state rose sharply from 22% in 2017–18 to 40.3% in 2023–24, reflecting better access to jobs and enterprise opportunities. Mr. Sridhar Babu praised WE Hub for supporting women entrepreneurs and said the upcoming WE Hub 2.0 will focus on creating globally competitive women-led businesses. The government is building a clear ecosystem to give women easy access to skilling, technology, finance, markets, and mentorship. He encouraged young women: "You are not just learners — you are problem solvers and changemakers. I urge every young woman to ask herself, ‘Why can’t I become a role model?’" He called on the graduates to become job creators and economic leaders instead of only conventional employees. The event celebrated the first batch of 600 women graduates who completed a program involving classroom learning and real-world industrial experience. Film producer Priyanka Dutt, Olympian and entrepreneur Jwala Gutta, and WE Hub CEO Sita Pallacholla shared their journeys and ideas at the ceremony.
