Kerala will have 244 centres to count votes in the 2025 local body elections, the State Election Commission announced on Sunday. Voting takes place in two phases, on December 9 and December 11. Vote counting will be done on December 13. For the three-tier panchayats, counting centres are at block panchayat level. Municipalities and Corporations have their own centres. The number of centres per district is: Thiruvananthapuram 16, Kollam 16, Pathanamthitta 12, Alappuzha 18, Kottayam 17, Idukki 10, Ernakulam 28, Thrissur 24, Palakkad 20, Malappuram 27, Kozhikode 20, Kannur 20, Wayanad 7, and Kasaragod 9. District Election Officers supervise elections in their districts. They manage the distribution and collection of polling materials before and after voting. The State Election Commission has also released guidelines for implementing a green protocol at polling stations and for all related election activities.
