Nelavalli Mukesh, a student of KL Deemed to be University, won the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol event at the Khelo India University Games held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The shooting competitions took place at the Rajasthan State Shooting Range starting November 24. Mukesh scored 578 out of 600 in the relay round, ranking fourth. He then dominated the final round to clinch the gold medal. Aditya Malra from Punjab University won silver, while Olympic bronze medallist Sarabjyot Singh of Punjab University got the bronze. On November 27, Mukesh also helped the KL University team win a silver medal in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol team event, along with teammates Tanishk Muralidhar Naidu and Naga Sai Tarun. Andhra Pradesh State Rifle Association secretary D. Rajakumar, KL University Sports dean Hari Kishore, and others congratulated Mukesh for his outstanding performance.
