Police officers, doctors, and educators gathered on Sunday to urge young people not to use ganja, drugs, or tobacco, as these substances ruin lives. The event was part of the 'Gudivada Cyclothon 2025,' organized by the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE), the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Gudivada NTR Stadium, and the Cycle Club. EAGLE Head and Inspector General of Police (IGP) advised students to focus on their education instead. Key officials like Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu, Krishna District Superintendent of Police V. Vidya Sagar Naidu, and EAGLE SP K.M. Maheswar Raju released posters promoting a 'Drug Free Society' and 'Say No to Drugs.' They also flagged off the cyclothon. MLA Ramu urged citizens to report ganja or drug sale and consumption by calling 1972 or WhatsApping 8977781972. Mr. Ravi Krishna explained that EAGLE runs operations like Operation Safe Zone and Operation Trains. These include surprise raids on medical shops to prevent illegal drug sales and efforts to stop ganja cultivation and peddling. SP Vidya Sagar Naidu encouraged students to practice yoga and meditation for good health and to help police fight drug use. SP K.M. Maheswar Raju warned students about the risks of getting involved in ganja peddling, noting cases where engineering and other professional students ended up jailed in cities like Visakhapatnam and Rajamahendravaram. IMA President Dr. Maganti Srinivas, Dr. Potluri Vamshi, stadium officials, NGO representatives, and police officers also took part in the event, showing wide support for a drug-free future.
