KKCCI Welcomes New Vande Bharat Timings and Direct Silk Transport from Kalaburagi
December 2, 2025
The Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI) has welcomed the decision to revise the Kalaburagi-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express schedule. From January 1, 2026, the train will leave Kalaburagi at 6:10 a.m., nearly an hour later than before. The return trip will now reach Kalaburagi at 10:45 p.m., as per the South Western Railway notification on December 2, 2025.
KKCCI leaders said the new timings offer smoother, safer, and more comfortable travel, especially for working professionals, students, senior citizens, women, and business commuters. Previously, the early 5:15 a.m. departure caused difficulties for passengers.
KKCCI president Sharanabasappa M. Pappa, secretary Shivaraj V. Inginshetty, and past president Shashikanth B. Patil noted that these improvements came after continuous efforts by their chamber, rail user groups, and citizens. They made multiple representations to the Railway Ministry and Railways, leading to the change.
The chamber thanked Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna for supporting their demand during his visit in June 2025. KKCCI said the revised schedule will improve passenger comfort, boost the Vande Bharat service's use, and strengthen rail links in Kalyana Karnataka.
In another development, KKCCI praised Central Railway's new move to allow direct transport of silk cocoons from Pandharpur and Kalaburagi to Ramanagara, Asia’s largest silk market. This will help cocoon growers with faster, safer, and cheaper transport.
KKCCI had pushed for this and met the Divisional Railway Manager in Solapur in September 2025. They appreciated Central Railway's positive response in supporting the local sericulture economy.
The chamber leaders reaffirmed their commitment to keep working with rail authorities to improve connectivity, promote local agriculture and industry, and support Kalyana Karnataka’s overall economic growth.
