Malaysian authorities announced the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will restart on 30 December. This mission, lasting 55 days, was paused in March due to bad weather. The transport ministry said, "The latest development underscores the [Malaysia's] commitment to providing closure to the families affected by this tragedy." MH370 disappeared in 2014 with 239 people on board during its flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. It sparked the largest search in aviation history, involving 60 ships and 50 aircraft from 26 countries until 2017. The current search is led by Ocean Infinity, operating on a "no find, no fee" basis, and will earn $70 million if successful, according to Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook. Flight MH370 lost contact less than an hour after takeoff and deviated from its planned route. It remains one of the biggest aviation mysteries. The plane’s disappearance has fueled conspiracy theories, including deliberate pilot action or hijacking. An investigation in 2018 suggested deliberate manipulation of the plane's controls but did not identify a cause. Officials said, "the answer can only be conclusive if the wreckage is found." Many families have urged for renewed search efforts to bring closure.
