A 50-year-old man named D. Anbarasu was arrested on Wednesday for running a fake clinic and pharmacy in Vishamangalam village near Tirupattur. He has only completed Class XII and was giving medical treatment without proper qualifications for several years. Health officials acted after many villagers complained. A special medical team led by K. Sivakumar, Medical Officer at Government Taluk Hospital, Tirupattur, made a surprise visit. They sealed the clinic and pharmacy and took away medical equipment. Police registered a case and sent Anbarasu to a sub-jail in Tirupattur town. Investigations are ongoing.
