Anilkumar Raveendran, an Indian national from Kerala, was held by Houthi rebels in Yemen since July 7. He was a crew member of the cargo ship MV Eternity C. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed his release and said he reached Muscat yesterday. He is expected to return to India soon. The MEA said the government worked with many parties to secure his safe release and thanked the Sultanate of Oman for facilitating it. "The government of India would like to thank the Sultanate of Oman for facilitating the release of Anilkumar Raveendran," the MEA said in a brief statement.
