Temples dedicated to Goddess Maha Lakshmi in Vizianagaram were crowded with devotees on the third Thursday of the sacred Margasiram month. This day also marked Pournami, the full moon day, increasing the number of worshippers. Special arrangements for Ksheerabhisekham, Kumkum puja, and other rituals were made at the Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi temple within the Sri Abhayanjaneya Swamy temple premises. Trustee V.K. Gayatri Sarma said, “Devotee number swelled on the third Thursday which also coincided with Pournami, the full moon day.” Besides this temple, the Maha Lakshmi shrine at Jagannath Swamy temple and the Astalakshmi Sametha Ishwarya Venkateswara Swamy temple in Ayyannapeta also welcomed large crowds.
