On December 6, 2025, IndiGo canceled 69 flights at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. This included 43 departures and 26 arrivals, leading to major confusion and distress among travellers. Among them was Hardeep Singh, 43, who was desperate to return home to Srinagar. "My house has caught fire," he said, wiping tears. "My house is burning and here I am stuck some 2000 kilometres away from home." Many others faced similar troubles. Bhargavi missed her connecting flight from Hyderabad to Vijayawada due to delays and was waiting for a replacement. Tourists from the US, Gentrye and Ryan, had their Hyderabad to Varanasi flight canceled and now planned to take a train or cab to their next destination. Tarun Singha received a message that his flight time had changed, but after reaching security, he found it was canceled. Rajesh Gupta complained about conflicting info, saying, "Even booking tickets at higher fares offered no certainty of travel." To ease the situation, regional airline FLY91 announced extra flights between Hyderabad and Goa for the next three days. These flights will run daily at night, with IC 7001 leaving Hyderabad at 8:30 p.m. and IC 7002 returning from Goa at 10:35 p.m. For passengers like Hardeep Singh, time was precious as he worried about his burning home far away. The ongoing IndiGo cancellations added to their anxiety and helplessness.
