A 76-year-old man named Swami Dasane was found dead in his home nearly a week ago. His family stayed inside with the body for about three days before police got involved. Neighbours were worried and informed the police in Jeedimetla. Police registered a case and sent the body for postmortem. The investigation showed the family faced severe financial problems. They did not ask for help because of ‘pride’. After the father’s death, they tried to manage the situation on their own for a week. An NGO helped the family and moved them on December 4 to The Home for the Disabled near Bible House. They now receive care and shelter there.
