The International Music & Arts Society has released a commemorative volume to celebrate its 40th anniversary, offering a glimpse into Bengaluru’s rich cultural heritage. The society was founded in 1974, following a suggestion by the Maharaja of Mysore to his sister Rani Vijaya Devi of Kotda Sangani, who resided in the city. The book showcases the society’s history and major programs, including performances by renowned artists such as M. Balamuralikrishna, L. Subramaniam, Sonal Mansingh, and M.F. Hussain. It also highlights the shift from royal patronage to corporate support in promoting the arts. The volume serves as a valuable record of Bengaluru’s cultural activity and its diverse artistic traditions.
