LegalPay Launches AI-Driven Image Monitoring Tool to Protect Copyrights

New Delhi-based legal technology startup LegalPay has launched ImageMatch, an AI-powered image monitoring tool called ImageMatch. This tool is designed to safeguard the visual copyrights of professional photographers and artists. ImageMatch utilizes reverse image search capabilities to efficiently track image usage on the internet. By automating reverse image searches upon image import, the tool streamlines the workflow for professionals. This eliminates the need for manual searches on platforms like Google or Bing.

Kundan Shahi, the founder of LegalPay, explained that ImageMatch can search the internet similar to Google Images and Bing Images. This user-friendly feature enables the identification of stolen images and facilitates effortless image theft detection. The system automatically identifies copyright violations and provides documentation of the images’ web locations. It also eliminates duplicates and false positives. The AI technology behind ImageMatch not only prevents copyright infringement for photographers, creators, and artists, but it also safeguards their intellectual property rights by offering necessary legal recourse in the event of a breach.

LegalPay’s objective is to help artists, image owners, and digital artists address intellectual property violations by identifying breaches and enabling affected users to seek damages resulting from such infringements. In a press release, the company mentioned receiving inquiries about copyright infringement from OTT platforms, where complainants allege that their pictures were used without permission in web series.

In India, a copyright owner who files a criminal suit for infringement can expect a minimum punishment of six months of imprisonment, extendable up to three years, along with a minimum fine of Rs 50,000, which may increase up to Rs 2 lakh.

LegalPay’s ImageMatch tool provides a valuable solution to protect the copyrights of photographers and artists. By leveraging AI and reverse image search capabilities, professionals can efficiently track and deter infringements, ensuring their intellectual property rights are upheld in the digital age.
