The Local Government has announced Saturday, October 13th as the final day to submit nomination papers for the candidates running for Burma constituencies in the Legislative Assembly. The returning officer will conduct scrutiny of the papers on October 20th. In a recent communique, the Governor in Council addressed the indiscriminate allegations of corruption made against Provincial and Subordinate Judicial Officers in press communications. The Governor in Council expressed regret over these baseless allegations and emphasized that the majority of these officers are self-sacrificing and hardworking public servants.
