Acting on the direction of the Supreme Court, a six-member CBI team reached Kunda in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh to re-investigate the role of local MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya and his four aides in the murder of deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Zia-ul-Haq in 2013. The high court had given a clean chit to Raja Bhaiya but the apex court ordered a re-probe into his role on a petition filed by the slain officer’s wife. Haq was shot dead when he had reached the Ballipur village in Kunda to control a group clash there.
