Bookings Yet to Pick Up for TNSTC’s Air-Conditioned Bus Service for Navagraha Temple Package Tour

Bookings Yet to Pick Up for TNSTC’s Air-Conditioned Bus Service for Navagraha Temple Package Tour

The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation’s decision to introduce an air-conditioned bus service for its Navagraha Temple tour package has not met expectations. Despite the popularity of the Navagraha Temple tour service, the newly introduced deluxe bus service has not received enough bookings. The Corporation had planned to operate the deluxe bus service daily, but the response so far has not been promising. Additionally, the air-conditioned bus introduced for the tour has also failed to attract sufficient bookings. The booking data up to the second week of April show that only March 30 and 31 have all 51 seats booked for the air-conditioned bus service. The booking numbers for the deluxe bus service on the extended days, from Mondays to Wednesdays, are also discouraging. Some Corporation officials believe that the extension of the deluxe bus service and the inclusion of the air-conditioned bus were rushed decisions. They argue that the Corporation should have waited to build goodwill among pilgrims and study the demand for the tour package more thoroughly. Others, however, argue that the Corporation should have increased the number of deluxe bus services before introducing the air-conditioned bus. This would have allowed the Corporation to better understand the demand for the religious tour package. Previously, the weekend deluxe bus service, running from Thursdays to Sundays, had encouraging booking numbers. The situation highlights the need for the Corporation to reassess its strategies and make informed decisions to attract more bookings and improve the success of the tour package.
