In an effort to regain lost ground, former legislator Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao, who is also a TDP candidate for the Gurazala assembly constituency, has come forward to extend financial and emotional assistance from his own pocket to various sections of people in his constituency. He released his own manifesto, titled ‘Gurazala Super Six’, which includes additional promises in addition to the ones announced by the TDP.
Yarapathineni stated, “This is my own super six. This will be implemented in addition to the party’s promised super-six once I get elected.” He believes that it is his duty to provide support to the people who have elected him thrice in the past and that it goes beyond just financial assistance.
Among the promises made, Yarapathineni has pledged to pay the premium for the Chandranna Beema (group insurance) scheme, which benefits workers in the unorganized sector. This scheme offers insurance worth 5 lakh rupees in the event of an accident or death. Given the large population of workers in lime-kiln units, brick units, and cement factories in Gurazala constituency, this promise is expected to attract a significant number of voters.
Additionally, Yarapathineni has promised to grant 1 free LPG cylinder per year, in addition to the three promised by the TDP, to reduce the burden on poor women. He also plans to cover the cost of Christian pilgrims visiting the holy Velangini temple in Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, he has been extending Rs.1 lakh financial assistance to poor Muslims for undertaking Haj pilgrimages, and he intends to extend this support to all eligible pilgrims from his constituency.
Another significant promise in his manifesto is the promotion of mini Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to create employment opportunities for approximately 15,000 local youths. He also plans to fulfill the locals’ dream of having a new district headquartered in Gurazala. Yarapathineni claims that the local legislator has seized nearly 3000 acres of land and misappropriated public funds from natural resources. He also criticizes the legislator for faction politics that resulted in the deaths of 11 innocent people, and he promises to put an end to this if he wins the next election.
To summarize, Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao’s manifesto for the Gurazala constituency, titled ‘Gurazala Super Six’, contains promises of financial assistance, emotional support, and development initiatives. These promises include paying the premium for Chandranna Beema, granting 1 free LPG cylinder per year, sponsoring visits to the Velangini temple, providing Rs.1 lakh for Haj pilgrimages, creating employment opportunities for local youths, and combating corruption in the constituency.
