The Chief of Defence Staff of India, General Anil Chauhan, stated that space is already an established domain of warfare that will influence battles in the air, land, and maritime domains. He highlighted the historical pattern of warfare where new domains influence battles in older domains. General Chauhan called for deep engagement between DRDO and the Indian space industry and startup community to develop advanced solutions and reduce the technology gap with adversaries. He also emphasized the need to integrate space and cyber elements at strategic, operational, and tactical levels. DRDO chairman, Samir V Kamat, identified areas such as space situational awareness, space-based surveillance, and launch-on-demand satellite capability that require further development in India. Navy chief Admiral R Hari Kumar praised Indian space scientists for their resilience in the face of challenges and denied technology, showcasing India’s potential in space.
