A complaint has been filed in a court in Patna against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, and four others in connection with the baton charge on a BJP procession in the city earlier this week. The complaint, filed by Krishna Singh Kallu, a political activist who recently joined the BJP, names Patna’s District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police as accused as well. The petition has been filed in Patna Civil Court and seeks trial of the accused under various IPC sections, including murder and voluntarily causing hurt. The BJP alleges that its Jehanabad district general secretary Vijay Singh died due to injuries sustained in the lathi charge. The administration, however, claims that CCTV footage shows the deceased was not present at the scene when force was used, and doctors found no injury marks on his body.
