A consignment of food items and medicines was delivered to the remote areas of the rain-battered Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh with the help of Air Force helicopters. The Mandi District Administration used the Air Force helicopters to reach the far-flung areas of the district, carrying food items, medicines, and emergency supplies. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also rescued 51 people stranded in cloudburst incident sites at Shehnu Gouni and Kholanala villages in Mandi district. The state of Himachal Pradesh has experienced widespread destruction and deaths due to heavy rains, landslides, and cloudbursts. Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur visited landslide-affected areas and urged the state Chief Minister to provide rations for the affected people. The monsoon fury in Himachal has claimed 224 lives and caused significant damage to the state’s coffers.
