Actor Paresh Rawal expresses his excitement for returning to two popular franchises — ‘Hera Pheri’ and ‘Welcome’ — and reveals plans to start filming for the third installments of both series. Rawal acknowledges the challenging task of creating a new part for a fan-favorite franchise and mentions the success of the ‘Munna Bhai’ series. The 68-year-old actor reveals that the shooting for ‘Welcome 3’ will begin in December, while ‘Hera Pheri 3’ will also happen soon. Rawal emphasizes the importance of a good story in a franchise film and cites the example of the ‘Munna Bhai’ franchise. Directed by Priyadarshan, the first ‘Hera Pheri’ movie released in 2000 and featured Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar. It revolved around the lives of a garage owner, a cunning loafer, and a struggling pauper. A sequel titled ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ was released in 2006. The first film in the ‘Welcome’ franchise came out in 2007, followed by ‘Welcome Back’ in 2015. The third part, titled ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, will be directed by Ahmed Khan. Rawal’s latest release is ‘Shastry Virudh Shastry’, a story about a seven-year-old boy caught between his parents and grandparents. Rawal describes the film as a unique custody battle. He also highlights the importance of grandparents in a child’s life and the desire to make up for lost time. The film, produced by Viacom18 Studios, was released earlier this month.
