China pneumonia outbreak: India flags alert, Karnataka health department issues advisory

India has raised an alert and the Karnataka health department has issued an advisory after a pneumonia outbreak in China. The outbreak, which is believed to be caused by a new type of coronavirus, has spread to multiple provinces in China and has resulted in several deaths. The Indian government has asked airports and airlines to monitor passengers coming from China, especially Wuhan city where the outbreak originated. The Karnataka health department has also directed hospitals to be on high alert and to report any suspected cases of pneumonia.
