Consumer Protection Association calls for crackdown on extra fees charged by LPG delivery persons
    Uncategorized

The Coonoor Consumer Protection Association has urged the State government and the Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department to take action against LPG cylinder delivery persons who are charging consumers extra fees for delivery. Currently, the price of LPG cylinders for domestic use is ₹965, but delivery persons are demanding an additional ₹35 for each delivery, making it a total of ₹1,000 per cylinder. This extra charge puts consumers in a difficult position as they fear not receiving their cylinders if they refuse to pay. President of the Association, S. Manogaran, stated that those who question the delivery persons often face verbal abuse. The Association calls for regular meetings by the district administration to ensure that civil supplies reach beneficiaries and strict instructions to prevent delivery persons from charging extra fees.
