On April 4, some 117 different cargo-carrying vessels appeared in Beirut-Rafic Al Hariri International airport in Lebanon. This occurrence has raised concerns as it affects the transit of cargo ships in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. The vessels’ presence at the airport is an indication of potential disruptions caused by GPS jamming near conflict zones. The interference interferes with the ships’ navigation systems and poses risks to maritime trade routes. Maritime authorities and governments need to address this issue urgently to ensure the smooth flow of international trade.
