A holistic approach and a robust backup plan are needed to address the challenges in the oil and gas sector reforms. Despite the efforts made by the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government over the past 10 years to reform the oil and gas sector in India, there are still some critical gaps that need to be addressed. The reforms, aimed at attracting more investments, enhancing production, and reducing reliance on imported energy, have not progressed as expected.
